I had the joy of photographing Katie & Sandon’s engagement session at The Barns at Maple Valley Farm back in April when the peach orchard was in bloom!

That day was 85 degrees and felt like a heatwave after the long winter we had! Katie said it was a great test run taking photos in the heat because she had to mentally prepare herself for a mid-July wedding… we can laugh about that now, because their wedding day topped out at 72 degrees!!

The day started out overcast, but shortly before I arrived to start photographing the details… the heavens let open and boy did it rain! (My rain gauge at home said almost 4 inches!)

Coleen, one of Katie’s bridesmaids, said it right, “If it’s going to rain on their wedding day, it needs to really rain and not just tease us by giving us a drizzle.”

But Katie & Sandon didn’t let the rain dampen their spirits!

They rearranged the Great Hall at The Barns for their indoor ceremony; which was beautifully decorated in the blue and sunflower yellow color scheme. Then said “I do” in front of over 150 of their friends and family. The reception was very lively as guests danced the night away!

It was a day to remember for everyone and I am so honored I was able to capture the love! I also want to give a shoutout to my second photographers for the day, The Kents Photography. Jon & Becky were amazing and helped capture the beautiful day!
