Saturday was perfect.

I could just leave the blog post as that one sentence and after looking at the images, you would understand and agree with my point of view. 🙂

Kaylie & Codee said I Do at The Barns at Maple Valley Farm this past Saturday and while their day was not spared from the seemingly rainy days that have been plaguing the weekends this summer; the day was absolutely beautiful.

Luckily by the time I arrived at the venue, the rain had slacked off some, so we were able to make it over to the horse barn for their first look without any issue.

When my brides choose to do a first look, I always scout out a location for them to share their first view of each other away from everyone else. Then as I am walking with my bride to the location, I give her the low-down on how the first look happens.

When Kaylie and I stepped into the horse barn, I let her know that Codee’s back would be to her and whenever she wanted, she could say his name for him to turn around and that there was no rush to hurry things along. I let her know that they should take their time to talk, laugh, hug, twirl, whatever was natural for them.

Kaylie just laughed and said it wasn’t natural for her to be in a dress so this would be a first!

Well they were adorable! They just looked at each other and both had smiles ear to ear. They hugged and laughed and somehow, rather quickly too, Kaylie had passed off her bouquet for Codee to hold! lol

The day went on perfectly. From the ceremony, to being able to take portraits outside with the horses, to Kaylie’s father’s toast that had people laughing and tearing up!

Codee & Kaylie, from meeting you both, to photographing your engagement, to sharing your wedding day; I had witnessed your love for each other and your love for your three little girls. You two are absolutely wonderful together and I wish you and your family so much happiness! Thank you for being your relaxed-easy going selves!
