Happy Wedding Wednesday!
Today, I have the honor of showcasing Mark & Ashley DeCamp’s wedding which was held at Riverside on the Potomac in Leesburg, VA.
I’m going to be real with you… I just spent the last hour and a half deciding on images for this blog post and I admit… it was very hard narrowing down my selection! There were so many images that had special meaning, a back story, or ones that I just LOVED! So… I apologize for the numerous images below… but really… I’m not really sorry!! 😉
The day was beautiful and overcast, and at times the humidity showed up when you least expected it… but it didn’t rain, so that was a win in my book!
I arrived at Riverside on the Potomac a little early and started scouting out detail shots and locations for portraits. The florist,
Bella Fiore from Morgantown, was already there decorating the arbor with stunning flowers!
So as Frank, my second photographer, and I were talking about the day and capturing the ceremony spot I hear a holler from up on the hill. I turn and see Mark waving down to me and even though he is 200 yards or more away I can see the excitement beaming on his face.
That is Mark…
I have met him on numerous occasions, and each time he is the happiest-go-lucky guy you’d ever meet.
And Ashley? Ashley is no different… She is the sweetest, kind-hearted girl who instantly feels like a long-time friend.
These two are quite the pair! You could tell the whole day that every decision, every option, every little detail was chosen to make their day the most personal, intimate, and perfect reflection of their love and life together.
To prove my point… they did a first look… but not just any first look. They read their personal vows to each other at that moment instead of during the ceremony. They cried, they laughed, they hugged, and they laughed some more.
Then they incorporated items from their ancestors in a special way… Ashley wore her Grandmother’s engagement ring on her right hand and had an heirloom hat pin in her bouquet. Mark wore a gold charm in honor of his Grandpa.
Mark & Ashley had the best bridal party too! Huge shoutout to them for being full of energy, love, happiness, and well wishes for the happy couple.
And the guests… I know guests usually get overlooked in terms of the photographer speaking about them on a blog, but come on… you have invited the right people when the DJ announces an open dance floor and EVERYONE is out there showing their best moves!
Of course, when you are celebrating such a true and aw-inspiring love like Mark & Ashley have… then of course everyone is going to be in the best mood and ready to throw their hands in the air!
Mark & Ashley… I teared up, I laughed (a lot!), and I marveled at the beautiful love you two share. I wish you both the best and cannot wait to watch your marriage journey unfold.
