So yesterday I opened my email and to my sheer surprise I had been awarded the WeddingWire Couple’s Choice Award for 2019! I won’t lie, I started giggling to myself and saying (in a very high pitched tone) “What?! So Awesome!!!! Holy Cow!!!”

I felt so blessed and loved by my previous and current clients!

So now, you may be asking, how does that transition into Jonathan & Kayleigh’s engagement session at Harper’s Ferry, WV?

Glad you asked! It transitions VERY EASILY because these two are the embodiment of the type of couples my work attracts. Joyful, fun, ridiculously in love, and very unique couples!

As soon as these two got out of their car, I could tell by Kayleigh’s wave that this was going to be fun. I know, I know… a wave? Really, Jacqueline?

But those of you who know these two, know that I am not crazy.

I mean this was their first thoughts about each other when they met:

Jonathan: “Wow, this girl talks a lot, but shes pretty cool. We could be friends.”
Kayleigh: “He is fun to work with. I’m going to save him a seat from now on.”

I rest my case… 😉

We started walking down the street to a stone arch tunnel and the conversation flowed effortlessly between us. We talked about the wedding, about their vision for the day, about what they like to do in their spare time….

Then I gave them the whole “what to expect” talk about 1) how I guide them in posing so they can be themselves, 2) to laugh, have fun, and enjoy each other’s company & 3) how usually the first 15 minutes can be awkward for everyone as you get into the grove of talking to someone with a camera to their face (lol)

But in all seriousness… the first photo I took of these two was a keeper! They giggled, whispered, laughed, tickled, and read their way through the session.

These two are very into reading, video games, family, and being with each other. Plus I hear Kayleigh has some amazing cooking skills! So we talked about Pinterest recipes/crafts and they chuckled that I, despite my creative profession, am not a creative crafting person. Kayleigh and her mom… total opposite! Apparently Kayleigh hardly follows recipe directions and her dishes turn out amazing (recommended highly by Jonathan), I on the other hand, have cried while making cookie dough truffles because the chocolate melted the dough and made a huge mess and after 4 hours of attempting to make them… I only had 3 that looked appetizing! LOL

I am looking forward to getting to know these two better in the months leading up to their October wedding! I am SO happy for them and cannot wait to see the sunflower oasis they created on their big day! Thank you both for a wonderful session and I hope you enjoy the images below! Gallery coming soon!! 🙂
