Last Saturday was a cooler day at The Barns at Maple Valley Farm, perfect for a springtime wedding for Jay & Amber!
When I arrived at the venue in Shenandoah Junction, there were numerous friends and family already there helping add the final touches on the decor. Amber was over in the corner setting out decor for the cake table and Jay was roaming the grounds… beardless! I honestly almost didn’t recognize him without the beard and longer hair. He had a much different look for their engagement session last May!
So I started out photographing the decor and flowers. Oh the flowers!! Ginger’s Flower Shop from Martinsburg, WV did a beautiful job creating the centerpieces, bouquets, and garland!
The decor was a mix of pastel colors, cherry blossoms, long chiffon bridesmaid dresses, and grey suits for the men with matching pastel bowties. It was beautiful!
Twice the clouds opened up and showered down, but rain was not in sight when guests started to arrive and find their seats for the outdoor ceremony.
Under the arch in front of the horse field, Amber and Jay tied the knot!
My favorite moment (and there were many!) was towards the end of the night. I was standing by Amber when her father-in-law came up to her, gave her a hug, and said “You are one of us now, you’re our family.” It was such a sweet and sincere moment.
Amber and Jay, I wish you both a life full of love, laughter, and happiness!!
